Well it hasn’t definitively been disclosed how soon PokerStars will release a mobile version of their online poker room, but based on the fact that they recently bought one of the leading mobile software development companies, it is logical to conclude that the next step will be the release of one sensational mobile poker room platform. The name of the software development company is Cecure Gaming. They were founded in 2000, and tasked with developing the world’s most secure mobile poker gaming technology. Cecure Gaming has had a tough year, which they attribute to difficulty in customer recruitment due to the difficult, prevailing economic situation. Based on this information, we can assume the buyout was a welcome solution for both parties.
PokerStars is the largest and one of the most successful online poker rooms in the industry, and is the most popular online poker site accepting usa players. It has exceptional game variety, the largest and most active tournament schedule in the industry, and juicy bonus offers. Their current bonus offer is a 100% match bonus up to $600. Due to PokerStars’ high level of traffic, their gaming software must be powerful enough to handle the action. The same could be said should they release a mobile version of their poker room. It is safe to say that the traffic on a mobile portal would be just as significant for them due to their enormous and loyal following. So as good little poker buffs, we sit on the edge of our sets, awaiting the announcement of PokerStars Mobile Poker Room platform, and as far we are concerned, it can’t happen too soon!!

The word is out that Harrah’s Entertainment is beginning to place more focus on potential internet operations, in particular the WSOP brand, owned by Harrah’s. While Harrah’s is not necessarily confirming these reports, they did recently hire Mitch Garber, former CEO of PartyGaming, to head up the internet arm of their business. This is one of the first dynamic moves of a land based casino to enter the online gaming scene.
Many believe that the timing of Harrah’s decision was sparked by the changing political climate in the USA regarding online gaming. With ferocious efforts being made to legalize online gaming in the US by implementing regulatory and licensing policies, there is much anticipation in the online gaming industry that the US Online Poker market will once again become viable. Some are anticipating that online poker will be among the first venues to become legal, and are excitedly preparing to jump on board.
