PokerTracker Rushes to catch up with Full Tilt’s Rush Poker Release
After being on the market for just a few weeks, and free of viable tracking and analysis programs, Full Tilt Poker’s ‘Rush Poker’ has some new accompaniments. The Full Tilt Poker team was originally pleased with the prospect of leveling the playing field by eliminating the edge provided by poker tracking software programs. However, I’m sure they fully expected this to be short lived and for the poker tracking software industry to eventually catch up with the new technology. In regards to poker tracking software, PokerTracker and Holdem Manager are the industry leaders. Both have released usable patches to allow players to use their software solutions when playing with the Rush Poker at Full Tilt, but it is PokerTracker’s solution that has come out on top.
The Holdem Manager solution was released prior to PokerTracker’s, however is unable to deliver as well as the patches released by PokerTracker. PokerTracker’s release comes with a full Heads Up Display (HUD), that performs real time updating. This is an important feature due to the fast paced action of Rush Poker which sees players moving through 200 – 300 hands per hour! The version released by Holdem Manager did not offer a HUD feature, but rather puts the stats and information in the notes section of the Full Tilt window. PokerTracker explained the delay in their release by stating that they didn’t want to put out a solution that ends up being a fancy note taker, but rather preferred to take a little more time and release a powerful HUD option that reflects their commitment to bringing players the best software solutions possible.
While applying the data found on these programs will still require some skill due to the fast pace of Rush Poker, many players who rely on analysis software for that added edge are quite relieved. PokerTracker’s solution is not quite perfect either. They have decided to focus on up to the minute stats on opponents, and not on your own hand play evaluation. If a player wants to add notes about a hand or opponent, they will have to do so before their table changes, which can be challenging in and of itself. All in all, players won’t be ‘in the dark’ when it comes to the competition at Full Tilt Rush Poker, and we can hear the sigh of relief from here!
