Phil Laak Sets Out To Break World Record For Poker Endurance
The Poker World Record that Laak is going after is the Guiness World Record for Poker Endurance, or in other words, the most consecutive hours played in a single sitting, a record which was set last year by Paul Zimbler when he played 78 strait hours of poker!! Anyone that has tried to do any activity for that many hours consecutively knows that your ability to concentrate and think analytically suffers, hence making it even more impressive for someone to do an activity such as play poker, which requires critical thinking, for so many hours in a row. Lets face it, Zimbler is a beast, and if Laak is able to beat that record, he’s one special poker grinder bad ass!
Laak has indicated that while he recognizes the magnitude of the challenge, he’s up for having his limits tested in this contest, who began his training on Jan 1st of this year. Not only is he ferociously training for this exciting event, he’s not wasting a chance to raise some money for one of his favorite charities, Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine raises money to help children, and the families of children with life threatening illnesses. Laak will be donating half of all of his winnings from the event to Camp Sunshine. This certainly puts us in his corner!!
The highly anticipated contest will take place on June 2nd, at the world renowned Bellagio in Las Vegas. Can Laak beat Zimbler and become the new champ? We know Camp Sunshine, and the Poker Grind is rooting for him!! Good luck Laak!!
