Maybe representing your country in the Olympics was not a possibility, but representing your nation in the game of poker is!!  The Americas Cup Of Poker gives poker enthusiasts the chance to proudly play for the glory of your homeland.  Not only are you playing for your country, but you’re also playing for you with a $150,000 prize pool on the line.  This spectacular event has online qualifiers and PokerStars Pros compete for their nation at an extraordinary live event in South America.  There will be over four weeks of online qualifications in which you can win a place on your country’s team, and the eight countries that will move on to the live final event will be determined.

From March 15 to April 14, players in the following nine countries will be able to play and try to get their country to the final event:  USA, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.  All the rest of the Latin American countries will be combined to make up the 10th team ‘Rest of LATAM’.  These 10 country teams will compete against each other in 3 tiers of matches including freeroll, 0.11, and 1.11 buy in levels.  The top 100 finishers in each tournament will be warded points. The idea is to score as many points as you can. The country with the most points awarded in each match will win it.  The top four players with the most points will represent their country should they make it into the final event.  Upon completion of all the matches, the six countries with the most points will make in into the final event.  The remaining four countries will play off for the two remaining spots.
